It’s my first summer with a walking, talking, little human, and I am soaking it all up. I’m savoring the trips to the park, afternoons at splash pads, vacations, and staycations. Here are five things that are helping me lean into all of the wiggles, giggles, and milestones this season.

Crocs
Throughout the day, my little guy can be found slamming his hands on the sliding glass door or trying to open the front door. “Do you want to go outside, Luca?” The bangs continue. “Okay, grab your Crocs!” “Ocks!”, he repeats. Together, we put on my sandals and his adorable camo Crocs. They’re drama-free to put on and easy to clean no matter where they’ve ventured.
High Five Kids
I don’t know about your kids, but my kid has lots of energy to burn. The classes at High Five Kids enable me to enjoy community with other moms while my son is dancing, climbing, singing, playing, and making music in a safe place. Luca has a blast learning with little ones his age. It’s adorable to see him interact with new friends. Also, it’s indoors which means AC. It also means that rain or shine he has that time and place to play. Add it to your summer to-do list because the first class is free!
Brush-On Sunscreen Powder
Remember how I said the Crocs made putting on shoes drama-free? Brush-on sunscreen powder has made sunscreen application drama free too. I quickly dust him, and then we’re out the door. Currently, we’re both using my Supergoop Mineral Powder. However, I’m in the process of researching other brands. If you have a brush-on mineral powder sunscreen you love, drop it in the comments below.
barre3 Play Lounge
It’s hot out and mama needs a work out. I treasure and value the 45-60 minute workouts at barre3. During that time, I have complete peace of mind knowing that Luca is taken care of so that I can take care of me. He has a blast playing with toys and making new friends. Recently, he’s having so much fun that he runs away from me when it’s time for us to go. Depending on our schedule, we love taking a walk together after the class or getting a snack from one of the surrounding eateries.
Doona Liki Trike
I debated buying the Liki Trike. Obviously, I did so much research and went through all of the options with my husband. We ended up buying it for my son’s first birthday, and I am so glad that we did! My son LOVES taking trike rides. “Do you want to go for a trike ride Luca?” “Go go ike go go.”
As our neighbor says when we ride on by, “Well would you look at him, having all the fun!” It’s great for afternoon walks around the neighborhood. It folds up so easily which makes it a dream for outings. We’ve taken the trike to the zoo, different parks, and on vacation with us. I get to listen to my audiobook and Luca gets to pretend he’s biking in the wild.
Enjoy your summer, mamas!
